Bread 101

BREAD, bread and more bread. Yes, we heard you loud and clear. This year, we will be making all sorts of bread.

Bread-making may sound intimidating but our talented Chef Don Yong, from the Malaysian Institute of Baking (MIB), will be teaching the basics of bread-making as well as imparting useful baking tips and tricks.

Yong, also known as Dr. Baker, is a qualified bio-chemical engineer from the National College of Food Technology, Reading University and holds a Masters in Management Science. He is a baker at heart and is able to immediately tell what’s right or not quite about a loaf after just a single bite.

So, if you want to learn how to mix and knead dough like a pro, sign up for our hands-on workshop now.

Each workshop only costs RM150 and in addition to bringing your own creations home, participants also get a recipe booklet, a goodie bag and the chance to win baking books. Light refreshments will be served.

All you have to do is register online, wait for a seat confirmation, make payment and come to the workshop.

Registration and payment details

  1. Registration for all workshops will be online. Walk-in, email, phone and advance bookings will not be entertained.
  2. Online registration for the July 11 workshop will be on June 23 from 9am onwards.We will close registration once the seats are filled.
  3. Participants will be selected randomly. Preference will be given to those who have not attended any of the workshops.
  4. We will only contact you if you have been selected. We will inform you by email how to make payment and if your seat is confirmed.
  5. You can register and make payment for this workshop only.
