VALUE for money, quality and rich in variety pretty much sum up Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya’s Fusion Japanese and Grilled from Land to Sea buffet dinners every Thursday and Friday respectively from now until May.

Priced at RM53 nett for adults and RM38 nett for children/senior citizens, the Fusion Japanese features a medley of cuisine ranging from Japanese and Chinese to Malay and Western.

Senior chef de partie Rafsan Zani, who underwent special training in the art of Japanese cuisine at sister property Sunway Putra Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, said the appetisers were leaning more towards Japanese.

There is also a teppanyaki and yakitori action stall. Indulge in assorted sushi maki, sashimi, rambanzuke (vinegar fish fillet), kohaku (vinegar, radish and carrot), harusame salada (glass noodle salad) and edamame (Japanese fresh soya bean).

At the action stall, watch the chef deftly cook prawn and squid with capsicum, Chinese cabbage, mushroom, carrot, leek and chive on the Teppan (large steel hotplate).

Main course comprises Japanese garlic fried rice, stir-fried udon with assorted meat, oden (stewed fish cake), chawan mushi (steamed egg custard), roast chicken with turmeric scented coconut cream sauce, baked prawn piri-piri and braised cauliflower with abalone mushroom.

There are also miso soup with tofu as well as seaweed and fish ball soup while dessert consists of tiramisu, mini tartlets, chocolate mousse, French pastries, English butter cake and ice-cream.

Grilled from Land to Sea: Select from marinated beef with Cajun sauce, BBQ chicken, farm prawns, chipolatas sausages, mabong fish berempah or stingray with air asam to be cooked to your preference.
