Its Horizon Cafe and adjoining pool area, overlooking the Tanjung Tokong coast, hosts the Selera Malaysia buffet dinner every Friday and Saturday from 7.15pm to 10pm.

Affordably priced at RM48nett for adults and RM28nett for children aged four to 12, it is available weekly throughout the month of Ramadan, until July 2.

On the rotation menu are time-honoured Malaysian comfort food and festive delicacies, starting with Ulam-Ulam dan Sambal Belacan and crackers.

There is Lemang and Ketupat, served with either Daging Serunding or Daging Rendang, and hearty soups like Sup Ayam Bersantan, Sup Kambing, Sup Serai Ikan Dengan Sotong or Sup Bebola Ikan.

Each session features about 10 hot items, with highlights like Ayam Masak Lemak Serai, Daging Kicap Halia, Ikan Tilapia Sos Sambal, Kambing Kurma Ubi Biji Janggus, Sambal Udang Petaiand Rendang Ayam.

Other possibilities include Tenggiri Goreng Kunyit, Ayam Bakar Perchik, Dhalca Sayuran, Daging Goreng Kicap Manis Cili Kering, Kari Bawal Hitam, Kambing Masala, Sotong Berlada and Daging Masak Merah to name a few.

Each week, a different dish is featured at the noodle station — be it Penang Curry Mee, Penang Laksa, Soto Ayam or Chicken Tom Yam.

The adjacent barbecue station has chefs grilling succulent cuts like Blackpepper Beef, Cajun-marinated Lamb Chops, Portuguese Fish in Foil, Tandoori Chicken Kebabs and sausages to go with various sauces.

Sweet endings come in the form of Kuih-Kuih Melayu (top pic), Sago Gula Melaka and Ais Batu Campur, alongside fruits, cakes and pastries. There is also Ais Bandung Cincau for drinks.

While the buffet is only served on Fridays and Saturdays, those wanting to break fast on other days can also book their own sessions.

Available for a minimum of 10 pax and above, it will have more compact and tailor-made menus. Advance reservation is required.

At other times, diners can also enjoy the hotel’s Do-It-Yourself BBQ By The Sea promotion, priced at RM50nett for adults, and RM30nett per child.

With a minimum requirement of just two pax, one can enjoy a hasle-free barbecue featuring succulent meats and seafood, and other accompanying items.

Advance booking is similarly advised, with morning notice for evening sessions viable.
