FOR the third consecutive year, Harrods World Signature Shop & Tea Salon in Suria KLCC is coming back with their distinctive East meets West Ramadan menu called the Chef’s Sunset Special.

The promotion this year will offer five main course dishes for diners to choose from. The appetisers, dessert and beverages will be served at the buffet table in front of the dining area.

Chef de cuisine Tony Cham has prepared seven different menus.

The Minestrone with Pesto Soup is prepared with carrots, French beans, onions, celery, zucchini and kidney beans. The flavourful soup is served hot and the crunchy vegetables are accompanied by a few strings of pasta.

For appetisers, the Moroccan Sweet Potato Salad has been mixed well with an Arabian spice sumak and seasoning.

Not to be missed is the Honey Date Fritters that will be specially made using seedless dates imported from the US.

The five main course dishes will include Harrods signature dish, the Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding served with garden vegetables and roasted potatoes.

The other four dishes are Escalope of Salmon with Salsa and Avocado Sauce, Roasted Baby Chicken with Curry Sauce, Pan Seared Perch Fillet with Capers, Tomatoes, Spinach and Olives and Baked Mixed Herb Rack of Lamb with Coriander Sauce.

Cham felt that since diners only got to choose from two main course dishes last year, the choices this year will be more varied and will appeal to more people.

“I think a lot of people will enjoy the Roasted Baby Chicken with Curry Sauce which will be served with briyani rice.

“To prepare this dish, the chicken needs to be marinated for a total of 48 hours with a mixture of herbs and Arabic spices,” he said.

Another noteworthy dish is the Pan Seared Perch Fillet which will be served with boiled potatoes, glazed carrots and fennel.

The fish, which has been specially imported from Kenya, has been prepared with olive oil and will surely appeal to the health concious.

Cham also added that he has prepared the dishes using a wide variety of local spices including cumin, ginger, cinnamon and star anise to cater to the local taste.

“Although the menu features many Western dishes, it is prepared with an Eastern twist. I have also included some Arabian spices into some dishes as well,” he said.

For dessert, diners can enjoy the Pandan Creme Brulee and Coconut Tartlets for a sweet end to their meal.

Diners should also not miss out on Harrods’ English “Teh Tarik” specially made using an English Breakfast blend.

Harrods’ store operations manager Patrick Lazaroo said diners can count on receiving an exclusive and personalised dining experience.

“Diners will get to enjoy quality food that has been freshly prepared by our chef in a nice and quiet setting.

“We create an experience where diners will want to come back with their friends and family,” he said.

The Chef’s Sunset Special will be available from now to Aug 15 from 6.30pm to 10pm and is priced at RM98++ per person.
