GOOD Kari Laksas are hard to come by these days. Having travelled far and wide in search of some good makan, I’ve come across some really good spicy noodles.

Recently, I received an e-mail from a reader known as ‘Phang’ who pointed me to a coffee shop in SS15/4B at Subang Jaya, Selangor.

The reader said this place serves Ipoh-style Kari Laksa with pork skin and long beans.

I took the cue and headed out to Lian Hin coffee shop (N 03 04 592, E 101 35 328) and found the makan place packed to the brim with the lunch crowd.

Michelle, my wife and I found a table in the busy place and ordered a bowl of Kari Laksa, Sar Hor Fun and a plate of Park Charm Kai (steamed chicken).

Our bill came up to RM23; the large bowl of laksa was RM7.50 while the Hor Fun cost RM5.50 a bowl.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d give the Kari Laksa a 6.5. The Hor Fun however, was absolutely horrible.

Aiya, this Sar Hor Fun tastes like rubbish,” said Michelle.

The saving grace was the Park Charm Kai which was pretty decent.

Lian Hin is located on the same row with Pomander Chee Yuk in Jalan SS15/4B, so, it is not hard to locate the coffee shop.

As for opening hours, this place caters to the breakfast and lunch crowd.

On directions, do a search on ‘Google Maps’.
