A HOMEGROWN new dessert outlet — U Good Bun & Desserts — has opened in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur.

If you are looking for a great chill-out place that serves healthy but simple desserts, then give the outlet a try.

The vibrant looking outlet attracted many curious customers who thronged the place when it first opened.

In addition, the first 100 lucky customers were treated to a free U Froz, the outlet’s ice-cream dessert.

“Our signature U Froz and U Smoothies are created with current consumers in mind. Customers can chill-out at our place and enjoy our healthy and tasty products,” said U Good International Sdn Bhd director Sing Oi Chin.

The outlet, the first of its kind in the neighbourhood is owned by PappaRich Malaysia director Dr Ahmad Kamal Zakaria.

Sing said its signature product, U Froz, was specially formulated using frozen mango yogurt ice cream served with fresh mango.

“Customers can also enjoy frozen mango yogurt blended with a different combination of fresh fruits to get a great variety of healthy and tasty U Smoothies.

“Those who do not like yogurt will find our U Good frozen yogurt refreshing and tasty,” she added.

Also available at the outlet is ICE Cornet, a hot fried bread cone from Hamamatsu, Japan, served with the in-house 98% fat-free frozen yogurt ice cream or premium ice cream.

“The bun is lightly fried to make it warm and crispy. Combined with the ice cream, the dessert gives consumers a unique hot-meets-cold experience,” Sing said.

At U Good, even the hot coffee and hot chocolate are specially formulated with stevia, a natural sweetener derived from a plant commonly known as sweet leaf and functions as a sugar substitute.

It is low in glycemic index and has negligible effects on blood sugar.

These beverages are said to be friendly even to diabetics and make excellent choices for those seeking a sugar substitute and is ideal for those watching their weight.
