IT WILL be a week of ‘all things American’ at Hilton Kuala Lumpur as modern American cuisine takes centerstage featuring some of the best culinary talents, food, wine and whiskies from the United States.

To inject the all-American feel into the week, guests can look forward to exclusive wine dinners by two-Michelin star guest chef Curtis Duffy and delectable confectionary creations from pastry master chef Eric Perez as well as specialist workshops, master classes, food pairings and tastings.

The wine dinners at Senses with Duffy are among the highlights of the week.

Duffy is chef de cuisine at the award-winning Avenues restaurant in Chicago.

With him at the helm, Avenues received a two-Michelin star rating along with accolades and rave reviews from food critics and the epicurean community.

He also earned the title of ‘legacy chef’ from the prestigious James Beard Awards, which are recognised as the ‘Oscars of the Food World’ by Time Magazine.

Duffy will be taking a progressive and imaginative take on modern American cuisine as he hosts a series of exclusive wine dinners paired with some for the country’s best wines from Beringer and California.

The wine and dine experience at Senses, which ends tomorrow, is priced at RM398++ per person (set meal with wine pairings).

Those who cannot get enough of pastries, should make a date with Perez for a sinful affair of sweet delights.

Voted as one of America’s top pastry chefs and a medal winner at the Coupe de Monde World Pastry Cup competition, Perez began his apprenticeship in Toulouse, France.

He was recognised for his expertise in ‘A Modernist View on Plated Dessert’, a published compendium on desserts as culinary art.

The Sweet Temptation by Perez featuring pastries and macaroons will be featured at at Caffe Cino until Sunday.

No adventure into American flavours would be complete without a taste of bourbon.

The Bourbon Nights at Chynna, ending on Saturday, are priced at RM298++ per person (dinner with bourbon and whisky pairings) and explore the modern Cantonese cuisine paired with some of the best Kentucky bourbons and whiskies from Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark and Jack Daniel’s.

Rich in character and complexity while refined in taste, these bourbons will appeal to any connoisseur who has an appreciation for fine spirits.

Over at Iketeru, until Saturday, diners are in for a treat of American beef.

Iketeru will feature a special menu of prime cuts of Wagyu beef as diners can enjoy thinly sliced sirloin served Carpaccio style with a spicy olive and soy dressing, Seared Beef Tenderloin Salad with a delicate ponzu dressing and much more.

For a laid back feel of the American dining experience, there is the Harley Davidson BBQ Poolside dinner at Boardwalk on Saturday.

Boardwalk will be hosting a classic American barbeque poolside with fresh seafood, prime cuts, poultry and vegetables sizzling over a hot grill.

And if you are a Harley Davidson fan, join members of the Harley Davidson Club at the barbeque that evening for some serious biker talk.

This guzzling affair is priced at RM98 nett (with free flow of beer).

The ‘America the Bountiful’ promotion until Sunday is an invitation to indulge in modern American cuisine for lunch, dinner and brunch at the all-day dining restaurant, Sudu.

Partake in American inspired dishes like Heirloom Tomato Salad with Shaved Fennel and Gorgonzola, Boston Lobster and Avocado Cocktail, Cajun Grilled Chicken Breast with Pineapple Salsa and Gourmet Meatloaf as part of the international buffet spread all week.

The brunch on Sunday is priced at RM 148++ per person, while lunch is RM98++ per person and dinner is RM148 ++ per person (Monday–Saturday).

Cosmo Lounge also has a part to play in the American week as it calls out to chocolate and whisky lovers.

This is the place featuring bourbons paired up with hand-crafted whisky truffles.

If you are a serious chocoholic, you can also opt to pair your truffles with a rich and delightful cup of hot chocolate.
