Until Jan 22, Shang Palace presents its signature fish-shaped ninko for those celebrating the Chinese New Year festival. Ninko, a sweet and sticky pudding made from brown sugar and glutinous rice flour, is a traditional must-have during the Chinese New Year. Aside from the word ninko which sounds like “yearly promotion”, the fish shape represents yue in Cantonese or an “abundance of wealth”. Shang Palace’s ninko comes in a custom-designed gift box and is priced at RM42 nett per box.
