WELCOME a birth or celebrate that special birthday at Tai Thong Group of Restaurants with its 2013 Full Moon and Birthday set menus.

There are three set menus available until Dec 31 except from the first to the 15th day of Chinese New Year.

With prices ranging from RM488++ to RM988++ for a table of 10, patrons can look forward to enjoying a sumptuous nine-course meal comprising an assortment of Chinese dishes.

We were served Set A (RM488++) and started with the Happiness Three Deluxe Combinations Platter.

One delicacy on this platter looked like chicken drummets but upon a closer look, it was Chinese mushrooms wrapped in chicken skin in the shape of a drumstick.

Next we had Braised Fish Lips Broth, which was boiled for eight hours.

Another special dish was the Stir-Fried Sliced Chicken with Shrimps where the chicken and prawns were both boneless and shelled, making it easy for the whole family, from young children to senior citizens to enjoy.

The beancurd from the Stewed Pacific Clams with Bailing Mushrooms and Golden Bean Curd dish with soft texture was very satisfying.

Group executive chef Lee Wee Hong said they made their own soy milk for the bean curd.

The Crispy Roasted Chicken with Garlic was also nicely done as it did not have the overpowering salty taste.

We ended the meal with healthy desserts like Red Dates Cake and Red Bean Soup with Tangerine Peels prepared by group executive mooncake and dim sum chef Yiu Wing Keung.

Lee said this was value for money as guests would receive many goodies.

Each table will be served 12 complimentary pieces of Birthday Buns and for every Birthday Dinner consisting of at least five tables, a special “Birthday Bun Hamper” will be presented. The buns have pandan lotus paste filling.

A free flow of soft drinks and Chinese tea plus a complimentary bottle of red wine will be served during the Birthday or Full Moon meal.
