THERE’S no better way to set the mood for Christmas than delighting your tastebuds with the season’s popular flavours.

Sky 360° at E-City Hotel @ One City does this very appropriately by featuring delicious Christmas specials with their extensive buffet spread.

Like its name suggests, the restaurant which is set on the rooftop of the hotel, offers diners a splendid 360 degrees view of the cityscape, which can be enjoyed while feasting on the dishes offered by the restaurant.

A mix of Western, Chinese, and local dishes are served in the buffet.

The buffet spread consists of a full-fledged appetiser selection from a salad bar which I chose to pile on as a health-conscious eater (I felt better about piling sinful desserts onto my plate later). My mix salad consisting of the usual lettuce along with beetroot, grilled Portobello mushroom, sun-dried tomatoes, assorted olives and croutons was a scrumptious start to the menu.

A restaurant which has raw oysters and salmon served, automatically goes on my “must return here” list of places to eat, and I’m happy to say the seafood at Sky 360° were nothing less than fresh.

Also served at the appetiser table were a tasty selection of cold cut meats that were bursting with salty-smokey tones.

The turkey was a popular choice among diners, roasted just right on the outside while maintaining its moisture on the inside.

Moving onto the main course, the buffet at Sky 360 has a carving station serving a whole roasted turkey. As expected, the turkey was a popular choice among diners, roasted just right on the outside while maintaining its moisture on the inside. The cranberry sauce did not particularly appeal to me this time, though. But seeing as the restaurant provides many choices of condiments and sauces, including mustard, horseradish, and giblet sauce, diners are sure to find their perfect pairing of accompaniments according to their preferences.

Sky 360° serves a main course spread that has something for everyone, consisting of Western and Chinese hot dishes, pasta, local dishes, outdoor barbecue of a whole range of meats, along with a Japanese station which served an assortment of sushi, sashimi and maki.

I would have to say that my favourite portion of the buffet had to be the dessert section, though. The arrangement of the pretty cocktail-styled desserts along with decorated assortment of Christmas cakes makes for a perfect ending to the already scrumptious menu.

The cute Christmas decorations took the cake (no pun intended) in terms of presentation.

The black truffle yule log was especially sinful and rich, a must try at the dessert table, while the mince pies were delectable, and possessed just the right balance of sweetness and spice.

The dessert spread also consisted of Christmas cupcakes, cinnamon brûlée and rich Christmas fruitcake.

The pretty gingerbread house that adorned the dessert table looked like it would be a delicious treat too – if you had the heart to break-off a portion and ruin the pretty ensemble. Personally, I did not.

This Christmas buffet menu at the Sky 360° is priced at RM138 per pax. The dining package is inclusive of one complimentary glass of wine or a non-alcoholic mocktail, and a free Christmas party pack for you to take home. This promotion is on from Nov 16 until Jan 1.
