Recipe Ingredient

  • For the meatballs:
  • 400g minced beef
  • 2 spring onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • black pepper and salt to taste
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp Italian herbs
  • For cooking:
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 200g minced beef
  • 1 tbsp dried herbs
  • 1 carrot, peeled and chopped
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup water
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • A few fresh basil leaves
  • 1 packet spaghetti, cooked

Instructions

  1. In a big bowl, add all the ingredients for the meatballs and mix well. Mould into golf ball size meatballs.
  2. In a pan, add some oil and brown the meatballs on each side for a minute or so and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, make the sauce. First, heat up olive oil and saute onions until translucent before adding garlic, beef, herbs and carrots. Fry for a few minutes before adding chopped tomatoes and water. Stir to combine, season with salt and pepper and let cook for a few minutes.
  4. To assemble, add in the meatballs and the pasta and fold through.
