Recipe Ingredient

  • 500g chicken breast meat, skin removed
  • Marinade (A)
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • Batter (B)
  • 100g self-raising flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 130ml water or just enough


  1. Open up the chicken breast meat. Use a meat mallet to lightly flatten out then cut into 5cm x 3cm pieces. Marinate with marinade (A) for at least 25-30 minutes.
  2. Combine self-raising flour, salt and water in a mixing bowl. Stir and mix into a smooth and thick batter.
  3. Dip the pieces of marinated meat into batter and deep-fry until golden. Dish out and drain from oil.
