- 300g green peas, washed and soaked for several hours
- 2 litres water
- 3 screwpine leaves, knotted
- 50g palm sugar (gula Melaka), chopped
- 150g sugar
- 350ml thick coconut milk
- ½ tsp salt
- 6-7 seeds durian flesh
- Put green peas and water into a large deep pot. Bring to the boil then reduce the heat and cook until the green peas are soft.
- Add sugar, palm sugar and salt to taste. Stir in thick coconut milk and bring to just a boil. Remove from the heat and add durian flesh. Serve hot.
