- 250g butter
- 4 eggs
- 180g sugar
- 300g self-raising flour
- 21/2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp vanilla essence
- Beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time and mix well.
- Sieve flour and baking powder. Then, fold in flour and mix well. Add vanilla essence.
- Pour into an 8in round tin.
- Bake for 40-45min at 180 degrees Celsius.
