Recipe Ingredient

  • 4 eggs
  • 120g castor sugar
  • Sift:
  • 120g plain flour
  • 1 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • Pinch of salt


  1. Preheat oven to 170°C. Grease, flour and line a 20cm round cake tin.
  2. Whisk eggs and sugar until mixture is thick.
  3. Fold in flour in batches with a spatula.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared tin.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for about 25 minutes.
  6. Turn out, remove the paper. Set aside to cool on a wire rack.
