This recipe is best with
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 4 large green apples (peeled, cored and sliced)
- 2 tbsp brandy or Cognac
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg
- In frying pan, melt the butter.
- Add sugar and stir until mixed.
- Add apples and stir until apples are coated with caramel.
- Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Cook for three minutes.
- Serve hot with whipped cream, if desired.
