Recipe Ingredient

  • 250g plain flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 125ml or 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Put flour in a mixing bowl. Mix in salt, sugar and yeast. Make a well in the middle of the flour and pour in the water and add the olive oil. Use a wooden spoon to combine the ingredients.
  2. Once the initial mixing is done, knead lightly until a soft dough is formed. Turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 6-10 minutes or until smooth and elastic. Gather up into a ball.
  3. Lightly oil the dough ball and the inside of a mixing bowl. Place the dough in the bowl and cover with tea towel. Let it stand at room temperature for about an hour to rise until double in bulk.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface again until smooth. Roll out to form a 30-32cm diameter circle. Place the rolled out dough on a lightly greased pizza tray.
  5. Spread with your own basic tomato sauce. Add topping of your choice and bake in a preheated oven at 210°C-220°C for about 25-30 minutes or until the base is crispy and browned.
