Recipe Ingredient

  • 600g spareribs, cut into 4cm pieces
  • 1 egg white, beaten
  • 1/2 cup cornflour
  • Seasoning (A):
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Chinese rice wine
  • Sauce (B):
  • 1 tbsp chilli sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Marinate spareribs with seasoning (A) for at least 30 minutes. Mix ingredients (B) and add to the marinated ribs. Leave in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  2. Just before deep-frying the spareribs, add in beaten egg white.
  3. Stir to mix well then remove spareribs and coat with cornflour.
  4. Deep-fry in hot oil over medium heat until golden brown and meat is tender.
  5. Dish out and leave aside.
  6. Reheat the oil. Fry the ribs a second time to give them a crispy texture.
