Recipe Ingredient

  • 600g chicken, chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • Marinade
  • 1/2 tsp light soya sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp Lee Kum Kee shrimp paste
  • Batter
  • 3/4 cup plain flour
  • 1 tbsp rice flour
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup water or just enough
  • 1 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with marinade and leave to marinate for several hours. Combine flour, rice flour, baking powder, pepper and water.
  2. Mix into a batter. Add in oil and mix. Coat marinated chicken in batter and deep-fry in hot oil until crispy and golden brown. Serve immediately.
