Recipe Ingredient

  • 3½ cups water
  • ½ cup dried lavender flowers
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 10g agar-agar powder
  • 1¼ cups sugar


  1. In a large saucepan, bring water to a boil. Remove from heat, stir in dried lavender flowers, and steep for 20 minutes. Then strain the mixture into a deep kettle or pot, discarding the flowers.
  2. Add the lemon juice and agar-agar powder, stirring continuously until powder is dissolved. Bring the mixture to a boil, then add sugar. Boil for two to four minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Pour into glasses and drop in segments of oranges or mandarin oranges. Chill for two to three hours and serve.
