Soak the satay skewers in cold water for at least an hour before use.
Put potatoes into a saucepan of cold water then bring to a simmering boil for about 5-6 minutes or until just tender when tested with a skewer. Drain and rinse under running tap water. Cut the potatoes in half and thread them onto the skewers.
Spray the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Arrange the skewers on a barbecue grill. Barbecue for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
To ensure that the potatoes do not get burnt, turn them over every 10 minutes.
