Recipe Ingredient

  • 2 tbsp chilli paste
  • 2 shallots and 1 clove garlic, pounded
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice


  1. Heat wok with oil. Add pounded shallots, garlic and chilli paste. Fry until oil rises to the top.
  2. Add salt, sugar and lemon juice. Mix well and fry for another 2-3 minutes. Dish up and use this chilli sauce for your Hokkien Mee soup.
