Recipe Ingredient

  • 2 pieces ready-fried tofu
  • (A):
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp chopped ginger
  • 1 tsp chopped shallots
  • 1 tbsp minced bean paste (tau cheong)
  • (B):
  • 1 big onion, quartered
  • 1 tomato, quartered
  • 1 red chilli, cut into slants
  • 10 button mushrooms, halved
  • 50g canned green peas
  • Seasoning - mix together in a small bowl:
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp light soya sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • A dash of pepper
  • 1 tsp Maggi chicken stock granules
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Garnishing:
  • Chopped spring onions and coriander

Instructions

  1. Saute ingredients (A) till fragrant. Add in seasoning and bring to a boil. Mix in (B) and add thickening.
  2. Heat a hot plate and glaze lightly with oil until it is very hot. Place tofu on the hot plate. Pour the sauce over. Top up with garnishings. Serve immediately, allowing it to sizzle all the way from the kitchen.
