
Tandoori Burger
There’s a myriad of ways to enjoy tandoori chicken, but have you ever had a tandoori burger? Instead of a regular burger patty, replace that with pieces of tandoori chicken to make a satisfying meal. This recipe is courtesy of The Daily Grind and was first published in Flavours.
Ingredients
Tandoori chicken
- 30g tandoori spice
- 20g Yoghurt
- 2tsp lime juice
- 1clove garlicminced
- 1pinch cumin powder
- 1pinch coriander powder
- 1pinch cardamom powder
- 1pinch clove powder
- 1pinch paprika
- salt and pepperto taste
- 150g chicken breast
Raita sauce
- 100g Yoghurt
- 50g cucumberdiced
- 10g dillchopped
- 10g gingergrated
- salt and pepperto taste
Pickled onion
- 50g purple onionsliced
- 1tbsp vinegar
- salt and pepperto taste
Burger
- 1 pita breadhalved and lightly grilled
- 30g cucumbersliced
Instructions
To make tandoori chicken:
- Mix all the spice ingredients together and rub the mixture onto the chicken. Leave to marinate for at least 1 hour before grilling on the top deck of a preheated oven at 200°C for 20 minutes, turning once midway.
To make raita sauce:
- Mix all the ingredients together.
To pickle onion:
- Mix all the ingredients together and set aside for 10 minutes.
To assemble:
- Place cucumber slices on pita bread. Top with tandoori chicken, raita sauce and pickled onion.
