COMPILED by AMANDA LESSLER

With Ramadan fast approaching, it’s time to start scouring the Internet for recipes that will impress and sate the appetites of your family and win the approval from your mother-in-law.

Instead of buying food from the Ramadan bazaar for the first day of the season, try whipping up a feast – it will definitely win you some brownie points with her. Though the saying is ‘the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach,’ I personally think that this idiom should be changed to ‘the way to a Malaysian’s heart is through their stomach.’ Because our culture is so food-centric, it’s not so farfetched to believe that we can actually win the approval of mother-in-laws with a couple of great tasting dishes.

As our website has thousands of recipes, we have picked out a few that we feel would be appropriate for this season.
