Deep-fried Tofu in Chilli Sesame Sauce
3 tbsps MAGGI® Light Soy Sauce
1 tbsp water
1 tsp sesame oil
1 clove of garlic, chopped
3 shallots, finely sliced
1 red chilli, chopped
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped finely
A pinch of sugar
8 tofu, cut diagonally
2 tbsps MAGGI® Concentrated Chicken Stock
2 cloves garlic, pounded
1 tsp white pepper
Oil for frying
2 tbsps toasted sesame seeds
In a bowl, combine MAGGI® Light Soy Sauce, water, sesame oil, garlic, shallots, red chilli, lemon juice, coriander leaves and sugar. Set aside until tofu is fried.
Cut tofu diagonally and marinate with MAGGI® Concentrated Stock, garlic (from Ingredients B) and white pepper for about 10 minutes.
Heat oil in a skillet or wok set over moderately high heat. Fry tofu pieces until golden brown.
Remove tofu from oil and place in a deep serving dish or shallow bowl.
Pour chilli mixture over tofu, turning pieces to coat evenly. Sprinkle with crushed, toasted sesame.
