Recipe Ingredient

  • 300g boneless fish fillet, cut into finger strip sizes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Dash of pepper
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup frozen potato slices (get it from hypermarkets)
  • Batter
  • 125g plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp rice flour
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 150-160g water

Instructions

  1. Season fish lightly with salt and pepper and set aside.
  2. Mix ingredients for the batter.
  3. Dip fish into the beaten egg, then coat with batter. Deep-fry in hot oil until golden and crispy. Dish out and drain from oil.
  4. With the remaining hot oil, deep-fry potato slices until golden and crispy.
  5. Drain from oil and add a sprinkling of table salt for extra flavour.
