Recipe Ingredient

  • 120g butter
  • 100g soft brown sugar
  • 40g castor sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 egg
  • 75g chocolate chips
  • 50g macadamia nuts, chopped
  • Sifted (combine):
  • 180g plain flour
  • 30g cocoa powder
  • l/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda

Instructions

  1. Line baking trays with non-stick parchment. Preheat oven to 170 ºC. Cream butter, both types of sugar and essence until creamy. Beat in egg until mixture is light and fluffy.
  2. Stir in sifted ingredients with a metal spoon. Add in chocolate chips and stir in the chopped nuts. Mix well to combine.
  3. Drop mixture by the teaspoon onto prepared trays. Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until cookies are cooked. Leave on the trays for a minute before transferring them onto a wire rack to cool.
