Hotel’s two eateries serve up both cuisines and local dishes, too.
The sauces are made by the hotel’s chefs instead of being importing from Japan.
“We started making our own sauces this year and word must have got around,” said the hotel’s Malay head chef Shumizan Mohamed Ali who decided to serve Japanese cuisine this year for its buka puasa spread.
Shumizan said prior to Ramadan, the weekend crowd at Agehan Japanese has been overwhelming and the hotel had to turn guests away as seating was limited.
This Ramadan, the hotel hopes to give an opportunity to every guest to try Japanese cuisine which Shumizan said would feature bento sets, sashimi, sushi, a wide selection of seafood and teppanyaki accompanied by the hotel’s prized sauces.
For dessert, the restaurant has prepared Japan’s iconic robotic cat Doraemon’s favourite cake; Dorayaki.
The Japanese buffet spread is priced at RM103.25 nett for adults and RM58 nett for children.
Those who prefer traditional Malay cuisine can visit the Royale Songket Restaurant for its Barakah al Mubarak spread which will feature a mix of local and Moroccan delights.
An assorted array of Sushi from the Agehan Japanese Restaurant will be headlining the Grand BlueWave Hotel’s buffet spread this Ramadan.
According to Shumizan, the highlight of the buffet is the rice dishes such as Nasi Kabuli, Nasi Minyak Diraja, Nasi Tomato, Nasi Padang Melangit, Nasi Jagung and Nasi Oozy.
For desserts there is the baklava, strawberry mousse, mango pudding, walnut pie, bread and butter pudding with vanilla sauce and assorted Malay kuih.
Barakah al Mubarak at Royale Songket Restaurant is priced at RM127.60 nett for adults and RM69.60 nett for senior citizens and kids.
On weekends or public holidays, the restaurant has a promotion of RM168.25 nett for an adult and one child.
The Fitrah al Mubarak buffet held on the hotel’s level one features an international spread with a mix of local and western. Diners can sample roti canai, Shanghai Pancake, murtabak, pizza, burgers and dim sum here.
The buffet is priced at RM103.25nett for adults and RM58nett for senior citizens and kids while on weekends and public holidays the outlet runs a promotion of RM127.60 nett for an adult and one child.
