CONNOISSEURS of homemade European cuisine can look forward to a refined gastronomic experience at Macoy European Restaurant in Ipoh.

The establishment, located in Greentown Square along Jalan Datuk Seri Ahmad Said, prides itself as a restaurant that serves authentic European gourmet.

For starter, diners can opt for its Homemade Oxtail Soup, which consists of tender and gelatin-rich oxtail served in clear broth with vegetable brunoise. The sweet-sour Minestrone Soup is also another choice poised to satisfy the heartiest appetite.

Alaskan Snow Crab Cocktail with its natural delectable flavour is also a dish not to be missed, not forgetting Wild Frog Leg with Garlic and Cream. The succulent meat is drenched in a perfect sauce produced from diced garlic and thick cream.

Macoy European Restaurant is also a specialist in handling the Iberico black pork with its Iberico Black Pork Loin as one of its signature dishes. It comes pan-fried with Serrano ham and sage, served with risotto gateau, and garnished with mushrooms and over-dried apple wafers and white wine sauce.

End the feast on a sweet note with an assortment of alluring desserts such as Red Wine Poached Pear with Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream and Almond Flakes and Glace Aux Noisette with Fresh Berries and Coulis. Of course, these are also homemade delicacies.

Restaurant owner Peter Shek, who is also the chief cook, said he strived to use the best ingredients from all over the world to ensure the quality of his dishes.

Opening hours of are from noon to 2.30pm (last order) and 6.30pm to 10pm (last order) from Tuesday to Sunday. It closes every Monday.
