Coconut candy is tasty and made of freshly grated coconut. It is a common treat during Deepavali.

- 3 fresh coconuts, grated
- 700g sugar
- 1.5tins condensed milk, 500g cans
- Dry-fry the grated coconut flesh till golden brown, then add the sugar and condensed milk and keep stirring and mixing so it does not get burnt. Cook the mixture for about an hour.
- Pour the mixture into a tray and leave to set overnight. Cut into cubes and serve.
