A MOTHER’S love knows no bounds as mum’s always there when you need her, ready with a kind word to make your day better.

She cooks, cleans, dotes on you when you’re ill, and always stands by you.

This Mother’s Day, show mum how much you appreciate her by treating her to a sumptuous high tea while doing your bit for charity too.

It is a day for mum to put her feet up and enjoy herself at Klana Resort Seremban.

The hotel’s Mother’s Day Charity High Tea on May 13 will include a fashion show, a live band performance, lucky draws and fun games.

Hotel public relations manager Jini Sebastian said mothers would definitely enjoy the activities lined up for the day.

“The highlight will be the fashion show and the best-dressed mum contest,” she said.

Part of the proceeds from the high tea will be channeled to needy single-parent households that have already been identified by the hotel.

“This is something we do every year without fail. This time around, the funds raised will go to two single mothers,” said Sebastian.

Sebastian said the hotel was also offering more variety in the high tea spread compared to previous years.

“The spread includes Western and local cuisine and an assortment of pastries and sweet treats.

“The Mother’s Day High Tea will be held at our Grand Klana ballroom which can accommodate up to 200 guests,” she said.

Junior sous chef Noor Eliziadi Abdin will be whipping up some of his own specialties such as Mediterranean Roasted Lamb Leg, Briyani Lamb Rice and Rendang Kupang.

The chef who honed his skills in New Zealand said the wider array of dishes meant more choices for guests.

“They can sample a bit of everything, from sushi to traditional dishes like briyani and rendang.

“We will also have stalls serving chicken tortilla, pasta, dim sum, mee Jawa and satay,” he said.

The chefs at the hotel have also come up with their own spin on some Western desserts which they will be serving at the event.

One of them is the Jackfruit Strudel, a spin on the traditional German apple strudel.

“Besides this, we also have Raspberry Panna Cotta, Creme Brulee and macarons,” he said.

The high tea is priced at RM60++ (per adult) and RM36++ (per child and senior citizen).

In addition, the first 100 guests to make reservations need only pay RM60 nett per adult.

Those who have a sweet tooth can also take advantage of offerings at the hotel’s bakery — The Bakers — from now until Mother’s Day.

Choose from handmade chocolate pralines, cookies and an orange opera cake (RM40+ per kg).
