THE Ramadan buffet at Putrajaya Marriott Hotel and Spa’s Zest restaurant can be considered a feast for the tummy and the eyes too.

The view of the huge spread of food will leave your eyes darting from one colourful dish to another. There are over 100 dishes available from appetisers to desserts. You will be spoilt for choice at the amount of food available from local to international cuisines.

This year, they have also included a halal lok-lok (steamboat) section at the buffet. “We decided to have the steamboat feature as most of the stand-alone restaurants outside are non-halal. We have already met the criteria to obtain halal certification,” said senior marketing and communications manager Lydia Mae Hendroff.

The steamboat comprises different types of noodles, seafood, chicken as well as beef balls plus other condiments and you can choose from different types of soups including tom yam and chicken soup.

Adding value to the customers’ dining experience, a team of Malaysian chefs make their way to the front through various action kitchens situated within the massive dining room space. After a long day of fasting, any food you see will make you salivate with anticipation. For starters, make your way to the dessert section to break your fast with a variety of dates or local kuih such as kuih talam, kuih lapis and many more.

Within the dining room there is a wide selection of hot and cold dishes comprising a pasta and pizza station, Japanese food which includes fresh oysters, California Rolls, sushi and different types of sashimi, Caesar salad counter, local appetisers including various types of kerabu and condiments, North Indian food counter and various types of Briyani rice dishes.

Step outside the main dining room and you will find the Park Buffet where they have various grilled items including grilled whole lamb, ikan panggang, venison, a Kawah selection featuring Gulai Kawah, Ikan Assam Pedas, Perut Lembu Masak Cili Padi, Kambing Kuzi, Dalca Tulang Rawan, Fish Head Curry and Ayam Masak Kerutup, satay, Penang favourites like sotong kangkung and fruit rojak, Murtabak and Bubur Lambuk, Chinese corner as well as various juices and hot drinks.

As you sink your teeth into the food, live traditional musicians will serenade you. For added convenience, suraus are made available for Muslim guests.
