  • 4 fillet beef steaks, approx. 400g each
  • 1 tsp black peppercorns
  • Accompanying vegetables (scalded)
  • 4 baby sweet corns, halved
  • 4 baby carrots
  • 4 sweet honey peas
  • 100g broccoli, cut into florets
  • Marinade
  • 2 tbsp black pepper sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp char siu sauce
  • 1½ tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1 tsp cooking wine
  • 1½ tbsp cornflour

  1. Season beef with marinade and set aside for 1-2 hours.
  2. Pan-fry the black peppercorns in a small frying pan, without oil, for 1-2 minutes. Remove and crush coarsely with a pestle and mortar. Add the crushed peppercorns to the marinated beef steaks.
  3. Arrange the marinated meat on a rack and grill in a preheated oven at 180°C for 14-15 minutes. Flip the steaks over after 7-8 minutes to grill the other side.
  4. Reserve the drippings and remaining marinade sauce and heat over medium heat. Once it comes to a boil, pour over the steaks and serve with accompanying vegetables.
