Recipe Ingredient

  • Sift:
  • 130g self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp instant coffee powder
  • a pinch of salt
  • 130g butter
  • 130g castor sugar
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • Chocolate glaze:
  • 200g cooking chocolate
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp butter


  1. Grease a 20cm ring mould or dish. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Gradually fold in flour, alternating with milk. Mix well and pour into greased mould or dish.
  2. Cook on high for six minutes.
  3. To cook using the one touch menu function, press the vegetable/instant noodles/steam cake button three times, then press start.
  4. When cake is done, stand for five minutes before turning out into an attractive dish.
  5. To make chocolate glaze, melt chocolate and butter in a bowl on medium for one to two minutes. Add milk and stir occasionally. Pour mixture over cake.
  6. Slice and serve with your favourite tea or coffee.
