- 40g black beans
- 40g black-eyed beans, soaked for two to three hours or until beans puff up slightly
- 2 chicken thighs, cut into big pieces
- 5 red dates
- 1 litre water
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp Maggi chicken stock granules
- Place all the ingredients, except seasoning, into a double boiler pot.
- Bring water to a boil and steam over simmering water for one to two hours or until both types of beans are tender.
- Add seasoning and serve hot.
