Recipe Ingredient

  • 2 kg crabs
  • 3 cm knob ginger shredded
  • 2 tbsp chopped shallots
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 5 bird’s eye chillies,chopped
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 small egg lightly beaten
  • 200 ml water
  • Sauce ingredients
  • ½ tsp salt or to taste
  • 8 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 5 tbsp chilli sauce
  • 4 tbsp lime juice
  • 2-3 tbsp sugar or to taste
  • ½ tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. Clean crabs and cut into 4 pieces.
  2. Heat oil and sesame oil in a wok and sauté garlic, ginger, shallots and bird's eye chillies until fragrant.
  3. Add sauce ingredients and put in the crabs. Toss well. Pour in the water and cover the wok.
  4. When water boils, remove the cover and stir-fry until crabs are cooked.
  5. Add in beaten egg and toss until sauce is thick.
