The grand interior with soaring ceilings and chandeliers make a lasting impression while the excellent Continental cuisine infused with strong local flavours will leave diners completely satiated.

Headed by Dutch executive chef Mathijs Nanne, the restaurant definitely lives up to its reputation of serving haute cuisine that’s imaginative and inspired.

Complemented with an extensive wine list, the dishes are stunningly simple yet delicious.

Housed in the restored seaside heritage manor of Leong Yin Kean, the eatery prepares diners for a unique experience.

Expect something new with each visit as the menu would undergo partial changes every few months with monthly special promotions and treats.

Start off with appetisers such as pan-seared scallop and smoked duck with celeriac (knob celery) remoulade, balsamic and lemongrass reduction; and beetroot and feta ravioli with dried cranberry, rocket, almond and basil beurre noisette.

The king prawn and blue crab salad with coconut and yoghurt, ruby grapefruit and vanilla dressing as well as Oriental and Western mushroom soup with grana pardano and basil come highly recommended.

Popular mains consist of baked salmon with almond and cranberry crust, slow- cooked potato, wilted rocket and king oyster mushroom and lime beurre blanc.

Others include lamb rack with ras-el-hanout spice crust, warm quinoa, preserved capsicum and thyme, vegetable confit biyaldi, date and onion chutney.

Other must-haves include grilled chicken with roasted pumpkin, potato leaf, shiitake mushroom, masterstock reduction and foie gras butter; and roasted cod with corn and basil crepe, radish and peach tomato and green olive oil emulsion.

Equally popular are the spaghetti with garlic, chilli flakes, basil, asparagus, mushroom and tiger prawn aglio olio and the house specialty of crab laksa lemak.

There are also vegetarian selections and special dishes for children.

Alternatively, the set dinner, which comprises an appetiser, soup of the day, choice of main, dessert and coffee/tea is priced from RM73 to RM150 per person.

For the perfect sweet ending to a lovely sumptuous meal, indulge in homemade ice creams, sorbets, cakes, banana and raspberry sundae, crepe suzette with orange and cointreau sauce and sticky toffee pudding.
