Guest chef in town

Guest chef David Paul Johnson from Hawaii, United States is in Kuala Lumpur until Oct 16 to whip up sumptuous Hawaiian cuisine for diners at Etoile Bistro in Hotel Equatorial Kuala Lumpur. Chef David Paul Johnson came from humble beginnings and is now one of Hawaii’s culinary stars. Do not miss this wonderful opportunity to sample some of his signature dishes from his Island Grill Restaurant. Two of the most important honours bestowed on him were being named in 1995 Johnson & Wales (Province, Rode Island) Culinary College’s 98th Distinguished Visiting Chef with other prestigious chefs such as Roger Verge, Jaques Pepin and Madeleine Kamman. In 1999, chef David Paul was inducted into the Circle of the Friends of the Widow Reims, France by a descendant of Madame Clicquot (Veuve Clicquot Champagne), an exclusive group of food and wine enthusiasts with only 500 invited members worldwide. Choc dome

The Lobby Lounge’s cake of the month for October is definitely for all chocolate lovers. This mint chocolate flavoured cake is packed with a taste of refreshing mint and milky chocolate that is bound to give your tongue a burst of flavours. Made using high quality ingredients like dairy milk chocolate and mint leaves extract, it is nicely baked in the shaped of a dome and coated with light fresh cream icing. It is then sprinkled with chocolate shavings and garnished with chocolate sliced and candied cherries for decorations. Perfect with a cup of freshly brewed coffee, the cake will no doubt satisfy your cravings for a chocolaty creation. Available at Lobby Lounge throughout October, the Mint Chocolate Dome Cake is priced at RM7++ per slice or RM68++ per kg/cake. This little cozy corner cafe serves a wide range of tempting and delicious cakes and slices alongside selection of sandwiches, loaves and freshly baked pastries.
