ENJOY a scrumptious Christmas eve dinner at Pacific Regency Hotel Suites with their “Gaga Christmas Celebration”.
To make things interesting this Yuletide, executive sous chef, Louise Joseph and his team have decided to add local cuisine with array of international delicacies.
“We wanted to do this for a change and we have four new dishes added to the menu. The dishes include Thai Green Curry and a new dessert,” said Louise.
For starters, Louise had prepared a Stewed Pumpkin Soup with Cumin. This rich delicious soup is an excellent appetiser with the cumin herbs that add a zest.
There is also the Poached Snapper with Honey, Soya, Chilli, Coriander and Ginger, Fresh Herb and Goat Cheese Tart, Spicy Mango Salad with Crispy Fish and Smoked Lamb Loin with Minted Tomato Salad.
For the main course, salmon lovers should try the Pan-Fried Salmon with Almonds which is another new addition to the menu.
“After poaching the salmon, we then pan fry it. By poaching the salmon I can thin back the juice and use it to make the sauce for the salmon,” he said.
The Butter Prawns with Nestum is also a delightful addition to the menu. The prawns are juicy and is well infused with the butter adding to the flavour of the dish.
Apart from that, there is the Lemon and Thyme Roast Chicken, a tasty dish that is both pleasant on the eyes and tastes great.
Other dishes that await guests in the buffet line are the Massaman Lamb Chops, Fuseli Pasta with Tuna Tomato Basil Sauce and the Seafood in Thick Red Curry.
The Flash Fried Tofu stir-fried in Thai fusion homemade ginger sauce with vegetables is a local dish that goes well with the other dishes including the Spiced Sausage with Cranberry and Pistachio. There is also the Brussels Sprout with Cashew Nuts and Beef Bacon. The sweetness of the vegetable is complemented by the salty taste of the beef bacon, a unique combination.
No Christmas would be complete without the carving station and this year, Louise has the Roast Turkey with Sage and Sausage Stuffing Served with Giblet Sauce and the Roasted Prime Rib of Beef Served with Yorkshire pudding.
“I marinate the Turkey in a secret ingredient with chillie powder, salt and pepper overnight,” added Louise.
For dessert, the latest addition is the Chocolate Tart with Nuts. Biting into the dessert, is almost like eating a rich, delicious chocolate bar with lots of nuts.
There is also the Green Tea Tiramisu and the much loved Yule Log cake which is also for sale.
The Christmas Eve Buffet Dinner is available at RM128++ per adult and RM68++ per child at SOI 23 and
RM148++ per adult / RM78++ per child at Luna Bar.
