Ayam Golek King Madu owner Faqrul Ismadi Oman, 31, who operates at the Teluk Pulai Ramadan Bazaar in south Klang, has been doing brisk business selling his roast chicken (top pic) that is marinated in spices and honey.

“I turn the chickens over a charcoal fire to ensure they are moist and turn golden.

“All the chickens are marinated for a few hours before being roasted,” he said.

This is the first time this father of two is selling roast chicken at a Ramadan Bazaar.

“The roast chicken comes with mashed potatoes and black pepper mushroom sauce.

“I think it’s a hit among the locals as I am able to sell 100 roast chickens in one evening,” he said.

One roast chicken goes for RM18, while half costs RM12 and a quarter order is sold for RM6.

Customers Kamaruddin and his wife Aminah Dol gave the roast chicken two thumbs up.

“It is tender and juicy but with a crispy skin,” said Kamaruddin.

Faqrul’s stall is open from 3.30pm until late evening.
