THIS Ramadan, enjoy the mouth-watering dishes at Maya Brasserie which is offering a whole range of traditional local cuisine as well as International dishes.

The culinary team of Hotel Maya Kuala Lumpur is cooking up a wide range of dishes led by chef Abdul Kochi Mydin who has returned to Hotel Maya for the third consecutive year to prepare his signature nasi kandar accompanied by a special Kari Kepala Ikan Jenahak that will be served daily.

Chef Abdul, who hails from Penang, said that getting the curry right for the nasi kandar is very important.

“We have prepared a variety of different curries such as Ayam Kari Kandar, Ketam Masak Masala, Udang Galah Masak Sambal Mamak and Lamb Shank Kari Kandar which will be rotated on a daily basis,” he said.

Chef Abdul’s son Nor Hanim Abdul is also working with him to prepare the Ramadan fare which features seven different menus on rotation.

Guests should also not miss out on chef Abdul’s Claypot Kandar which includes Sotong Lemak Kuning Mamak, Limpa Masak Hitam and Kambing Bertulang Masak Kari. There will also be a variety of gulai kawah including Gulai Kawah Daging Tetel, Gulai Kawah Kaki Ayam and Gulai Kawah Paru and Limpa Lembu.

The buffet will dish out a different type of nasi briyani each day using ingredients such as seafood, lamb, chicken or beef. Besides that, diners can expect hot servings of roti canai, Mee Curry Nyonya Penang, bubur lambuk, Otak-otak, satay, rojak, popiah and even pasta selections.

For dessert, the buffet will serve up some apam balik, ais kacang, cendol, dodol, wajik, tapai pulut, tapai ubi, an assortment of cakes, Malay kuih and ice cream. Diners should also make room for their Claypot Bubur which includes Serawa Durian, bubur kacang and Sago as well as Bubur Pengat Nangka.

The buffet will be available from July 19 until Aug 18 from 6.45pm to 10.30pm.

It is priced at RM95 per adult and RM60 for children aged between five to 12 years old.

Maya Brasserie also provides private function rooms priced at RM90 to RM120 per adult.

Maya Brasserie also offers catering services for Raya celebrations with menus ranging from RM80 to RM100 per adult. This is the writer’s personal observation and is not an endorsement by StarMetro.
