A meal in cosy surroundings made for Valentine’s Day.

IMPRESSIONS count and what better way to win a woman’s heart than to take her out to dinner at The Limestone’s Fine Dining Restaurant at Regalodge Hotel this Valentine’s Day.

One of few authentic fine dining restaurants in Ipoh, The Limestone’s is not only remarkable for its food but its quiet and cosy ambience permits an intimate conversation.

In celebration of lovers, sous chef Mahani Jalaludin has thoughtfully come up with a five-course dinner menu that is bound to sweeten the taste buds, literally, and melt one’s heart in the process.

For appetisers, lovers can choose either the Sauteed Scallops with Spinach Sauce of king scallops and mushrooms served with spinach sauce, or The French Kiss – a large, fresh oyster with lime and coriander dressing.

Next is the Pineapple-Mango Salsa Soup, a refreshingly chilled soup that is Mahani’s very own creation.

Regalodge general manager Stanley Yap said the soup was unique in that not only was it served cold, it tastes sweet and sour at the same time.

“To further whet the appetite and to clear the palate, a strawberry mango sorbet is served next,” he said.

There are three choices for main course, namely Pan-Seared Ostrich with Fruits, Honey Glazed Seabass and Crusted Lamb Chop.

As its name suggests, the ostrich dish is cooked with honeydew and watermelon, topped with homemade demi glace.

The seabass is glazed with honey ginger sauce before being baked to perfection and served with baby fennel and beetroot.

Then, there is the choice of the baked tender lamb chops, all covered in fresh oregano and pistachio nuts for that extra crunch.

To end a perfect night, the Chocolate Fondant or Pick Me Up – The Limestone’s homemade tiramisu with honeycomb crunch, will surely seal the deal.

With limited places available, Yap said it was advisable to book early.

“Items on the menu are available as a set and also as ala-carte dishes on Feb 13 whereas only the set is available on Valentine’s Day itself.

“For Feb 14, we have two dining sessions starting at 6pm and 8.30pm, respectively,” he said.

The set menu is priced at RM258 nett per person.
