EXECUTIVE chef Chew Teik Chye will be introducing a new Yee Sang called the Japanese Maguro (Tuna) Yee Sang this Lunar New Year, which is expected to be a hit among diners at Hotel Armada.

Taking its inspiration from Japanese cuisine, the in-house creation offers an option to those who want a unique Yee Sang.

The Tuna can also be replaced with Cuka Hotate (Scallop), Jellyfish or Mini Octopus.

“The seafood ingredients are marinated overnight, then added to the yee sang that includes Japanese seaweed and bonito flakes for its ingredients. We also have a secret sauce for the dressing,” said Chew.

The hotel’s Utara Coffee House other Yee Sang offerings include Tutti Frutti (Vegetarian) Yee Sang, Grass Carp Yee Sang and Salmon Yee Sang.

For festive gatherings, Chew and his team have lined up two set menus — the Blissful Abundance package that is priced at RM788++ per set and Charming Achievement Package at RM988++ per set.

The Blissful Abundance package begins with the tossing to a prosperous year ahead with the Prosperity Yee Sang with Salmon, followed by Braised Sharks’ Fin Soup with Seafood.
