Recipe Ingredient

  • 740g US Blue Purple potatoes, mashed
  • 480g glutinous rice flour
  • 150ml coconut milk
  • 400g prawns 60/70, peeled and cleaned
  • 250g sambal kelapa (Spicy Dry Coconut)
  • Salt for seasoning
  • Vegetable oil


  1. Steam and peel the US blue purple potatoes. Add salt to the blue purple potatoes and start mashing till smooth.
  2. Put the mashed potatoes into a mixer and at low speed, add in flour.
  3. When the mix is done, apply oil in your hand and make balls out of the mixture of 50g each.
  4. Using your finger, make a hole in the middle and put the prawn with the coconut (SambalKelapa).
  5. Close the dumpling and re-shape the ball.
  6. Place the ball in a small ramekin, pour coconut milk into it. Close with a plastic wrapping paper.
  7. Steam for 8/12 minutes and served hot.
