Recipe Description

Meatballs are easy to make. Here’s a simple meatball recipe which is hot and spicy.

Recipe Ingredient

  • Meatballs
  • 150g minced meat
  • 2tbsp prawns, minced
  • 1tbsp red chilli, chopped
  • 1tsp bird’s eye chilli, chopped
  • 1tbsp spring onion, chopped
  • 1tbsp cornflour
  • 1/2tsp pepper
  • 1/2tsp sugar
  • 1/2tsp salt
  • 1 soft beancurd, cubed
  • 1/2 onion, cut into wedges
  • 1/2tsp chopped ginger
  • 1/2tsp chilli powder
  • 1stalk curry leaves
  • 2-3 bird’s eye chillies ,lightly bruised
  • 2 dried chillies, soaked and cut into sections
  • 30g red capsicum, cubed
  • 1/4tsp ground black pepper
  • Seasoning
  • 1tbsp fish sauce
  • 1/2tsp chicken stock powder
  • 1tsp sugar
  • 3-4tbsp water


  1. To make meatballs: In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients and stir to mix well. Season to taste. Form into small balls. Deep fry the meatballs in hot oil over medium low heat until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  2. To fry beancurd: Deep fry the beancurd, remove and drain on paper towels.
  3. To stir-fry: Leave 1 tablespoon of oil in the wok and add the onion, ginger and chilli powder. Sauté until mixture is aromatic.
  4. Add the curry leaves and chillies. Stir-fry until fragrant, then add the pre-fried beancurd and seasoning, and return the meatballs to the wok. Stir to mix well.Add the capsicum and season with the black pepper. Dish out and serve.
