Recipe Ingredient

  • 90g cold butter, diced
  • 35g castor sugar
  • 135g plain flour
  • 1¼ tsp cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 egg yolk


  1. Sift flour and cocoa powder into a mixing bowl. Stir in castor sugar to mix.
  2. Rub butter into flour until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add essence and egg yolk. Knead lightly until a dough is formed.
  3. Wrap the dough with cling film and refrigerate for about 30 minutes until it is ready to be used.
