Combine mashed pumpkin with rice flour, corn flour, sugar and shortening. Mix well into a dough. Divide dough into 20 equal portions.
Roll each portion into a ball, then press out and wrap filling. Shape the dough into a nice round ball. Use the blunt side of a knife to make six or seven sharp dents to resemble the shape of a pumpkin.
Stick a clove on top to resemble the stalk. Steam the kuih over moderate heat for seven to eight minutes or until cooked.
