Recipe Ingredient

  • 250g prawns
  • 2 stalks spring onion
  • 2 slices old ginger
  • Chinese Herbs:-
  • 37.5g morinda root (ba ji tian)
  • Seasoning:-
  • 500ml Chinese rice wine
  • Salt to taste


  1. Rinse morinda root. Soak in water for 30minutes
  2. Rinse & devein prawns. Rinse Spring onion and cut into section. Peel ginger & cut into slices.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in wok until hot. Put in ginger & spring onion & stir fry until fragrant.
  4. Add prawns & soaked morinda root along with rice wine. When rice wine starts to boil, cover wok and simmer on low heat for 30minutes. Discard morinda root, season soup with salt & serve. The prawns taste especially sweet when eaten with rice wine soup
