FOLLOWING its success in G Hotel in Penang, Miraku has opened a new outlet in Paradigm Mall for Japanese cuisine lovers in the Klang Valley.

The crowd-puller of the fine-dining restaurant is the fresh air-flown sashimi from Japan, which arrives in Miraku every Tuesday and Friday.

Miraku assistant general manager Hiroyuki Hayashi said the selection differed, depending on the season.

Priced from RM120, the platter features at least five varieties. For our recent lunch at the outlet, tuna, akagai (a kind of shellfish), prawn, yellowtail and snapper were served.

Accompanying the sashimi was freshly grated wasabi that has a stronger flavour than the powdered version. It would definitely please the discerning taste buds of connoiseurs.

The outlet at Paradigm Mall, which can sit 150 diners at a time, has a main dining area as well as private rooms.

Customers can order from its Grand Menu, Specialty Menu, Lunch Set Menu and Delight Menu (available from 3pm to 6pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays).

The restaurant also offers kaiseki, a multi-course Japanese meal, at RM100, RM150 and RM200.

Instead of pre-decided items printed on the menu, kaiseki features delicacies prepared with the ingredients available on hand. Customers who opt for kaiseki place their full confidence in the chef?s culinary skills to impress their tastebuds.

Tasty: The GindaraSaikyou (Grilled CodFish).

Kaiseki is perfect for business meetings,” Hayashi said.

For salads, Miraku Salad was recommended. The greens were topped generously with salmon, crabstick, octopus and scallop.

It came with an interesting tomato dressing, while diners can opt for wafu or sesame dressings as well.

We also sampled oysters ? Yaki Kaki (Grilled Oyster with Mayonnaise) and Yaki Kaki Pirikara Miso (Grilled Osyter with Spicy Miso Paste).

Next up were Jikasei Tofu, Gindara Saikyou (Grilled Cod Fish) and Wagyu Steak Gozen.

“The tofu is made from scratch by the chefs,”Hayashi said.

The Wagyu Steak Gozen, meanwhile, came in a set of salad, wagyu steak, chawanmushi, garlic rice, miso soup, pickles, dessert and ice-cream.

Miraku offers a myriad sushi. Sushi Sakura ” a combination of 20 pieces of sushi ” is recommended for sushi lovers to eat to their hearts? content.

We wrapped up the satisfying meal with Annin Tofu (Almond Pudding) and Kurogama Ice (Black Sesame Ice-Cream), a must when having Japanese meals.

“Miraku’s prices are competitive and our kitchen is helmed by a Japanese, chief executive chef and director Masaki Kurihara.

“He will be able to accommodate to special requests from diners,”Hayashi said.

The restaurant has buffet on Sunday, from 11.30am to 4.30pm and 6pm to 10pm. It is priced at RM59 for adults and RM35 for children aged between three and 12. Free for children below three years old.

“The extensive choices enable customers to get a glimpse of Miraku,” Hayashi said.
